Public Health

Public Health focuses on keeping whole communities healthy by preventing illness and promoting healthy habits.

Who we are

Public Health teams work together with communities, partners and clients to improve health outcomes for the whole population, advance health equity, and contribute to a more sustainable healthcare system.

We are a diverse workforce of public health professionals that help people reach their full health potential throughout their lives. We take a proactive, preventative and person-centered approach that focuses on keeping people healthy, rather than waiting for them to become ill.

Public Health teams include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, dietitians, social workers, outreach workers, educators, dental hygienists, dental assistants, health promotion facilitators, analysts and administrative staff, among others.

Consideration of health equity is embedded in the planning, implementation and measurement processes of our teams.

Helping people reach their full health potential throughout their lives.
